Patsy Rodenburg

Brigid is a highly respected director, teacher, dramaturg and cultural leader with forty years’ experience in the theatre and tv industry in the UK and America.

Educated at Cambridge University and trained at the Royal Shakespeare Company, she is an expert director of Shakespeare and classical texts.

She is a skilled and award-winning script editor and dramaturg and has collaborated with leading British playwrights like Timberlake Wertenbaker, Rebecca Lenkiewicz, Charlotte Keatley, Gary Owen, Gurpreet Kaur Bhatti and Kevin Elyot.

She is the most experienced Artistic Directorworking in Britain, with a track record of turning around failing organisations, and collaborating with other civic leaders to use the arts to change lives.

From the beginning of her career she has sought to empower and give voice to other women and to Global Majority actors and creatives.

She is an actor’s director, with a focus on freeing and inspiring actors to do their best and bravest work.

A longstanding collaborator of Patsy Rodenburg’s, she is offering workshops and coaching that are designed to dovetail with Patsy’s unique practice.
