Eliot Shrimpton

Associate Faculty Member

Patsy Rodenburg

Eliot Shrimpton is a close associate and dear colleague of mine.

He studied Theology at Cambridge University, taught extensively in Japan and eventually came to train as an actor at the École Philippe Gaulier. and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

He was a very talented student. Challenging in all the right ways, brave , diligent and with enormous passion. He teaches with all those qualities.

He gained a Doctorate based on the difference between the Clown and the Fool not only in Shakespeare’s Theatre but connecting the subject to many other ancient traditions of Theatre.

He has studied Mask Work and alongside some of the greatest theatre movements teachers: Jane Gibson and Sue Lefton. He has taught in leading theatre and performance schools around the world.

Eliot demands a lot from his students and himself as he works. He has a great heart, joy and an extremely fine mind. I can honestly say whenever I speak to Eliot I learn something important about life and Theatre.

I urge you to enter the space with him!

Patsy
